Teaching
Ben is a passionate educator with two decades experience teaching musicians of all ages.
He holds a Masters Degree in Music Education from San José State University and a BFA from the New School in New York. He is also a former Brubeck Institute Fellow (2007-2009) and Stanford Jazz Mentor Fellowship alumni (2010-2011).
Currently, Ben lives in Los Angeles where he directs jazz ensembles at Glendale Community College and teaches saxophone and improvisation lessons through their applied music program. He also directs the jazz combos at Harvard-Westlake Middle School. Ben serves on faculty each summer at the Stanford Jazz Workshop, and he leads outreach for SJW around Southern California.
